Although left with only 27 days to complete my final year project, i could not restrain myself from writing this article. Today, while discussing the current Indian political scenario with certain people, someone threw a question at me - "What would you do if you were elected the Prime Minister of India in place of Dr. Manmohan Singh?" But, instead of the actual question, there were other words that actually caught my mind - "Dr. Manmohan Singh is blamed for being face of Nehru-Gandhi dynasty, for being a puppet and for being a remote-controlled Prime Minister. Though everyone agrees is that he is an honest individual... " I wonder, then why on this earth the government under such an individual is said to be the most corrupt in the entire history of Indian politics....
Well... I have tried to come up with some options or say reasons of my own...
1. Dr. Manmohan Singh is an honest individual and thus, it is unlikely that such a person would work with corrupt people. So, his government is as honest as he is and the scams are just certain stories framed by the opposition with the help of media to discredit the government. (least likely situation)
2. Dr. Manmohan Singh is an honest individual. His ministers come up with certain schemes and get those approved by him. Later on, through certain wikileaks and media he comes to know that it was a scam. Is it likely that the most educated Prime Minister of India could be so easily fooled by his colleagues???
3. Dr. Manmohan Singh is an honest individual who thinks that his honesty "lies" first with Nehru-Gandhi family, then with his party and then the nation.
4. Dr. Manmohan Singh is an honest individual but he is also afraid of Mrs. Sonia Gandhi. Why? He might be afraid that if he goes against the chairperson of UPA, he would be sacked from his post. At least he is being honest to himself that nothing is more important to him than being the Prime Minister of India.
5. Dr. Manmohan Singh is an honest individual but is "weak" as termed by Mr. L. K. Advani.
6. I have seen Dr. Manmohan Singh on television a lot of times. I do not know that others have observed it or not, but i noticed that he rarely blinks his eyes. So, is there a possibility that he is not human but a robot programmed to work on a remote which is being owned by Mrs. Gandhi??? If that is the case, there is no question of honesty. How could anyone question a machine's honesty??/
These are just a few reasons. If you are reading this article, you might have come up with some other reasons. It would be quite interesting if you share your views....
